This is the inaugural Family Dance Day event and I am so very excited that we will be spending it with the wonderful Djirri Djirri dancers! They are called the Djirri Djirri Dance Group, after the Woi wurrung (Wurundjeri) name for Willy Wagtail because the Djirri Djirri is a little black bird who is well known to dance all the time. The Djirri Djirri dancers offer dance that is of their culture with the essence of traditional dance/ceremony. All of their dances have a story about creation, family and Country.

The Family Dance Day is about ALL AGES coming together in one place to have fun & learn a little something about dance in all its vibrant diversity! Each workshop will be different, offering a new dance experience to participants.
BUT..... Don't let the words DANCE & FAMILY worry you. You don't need to know anything about dance, and you can come by yourself because you are about to meet your new Dance Family. Yes that's a thing!!! You can also send along your children (6 and up) as there will be a special workshop supervisor to give them a helping hand throughout. Children under 6 must be with a paying adult who will assist them throughout the workshop.
